Text Box: Approximately one hundred and twenty five members of the Brickhouse family gathered for the sixteenth annual Brickhouse family reunion in Columbia, North Carolina on August 16, 2003.
Family members came from as far away as New York, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Alabama.
Sarah and Ronel Reynolds hosted the reunion again this year. We had a wonderful meal, good fellowship and chance to catch up on family and friends.
One of the highlights of this year’s reunion was the story cousin Mary Erra told of her adventure of trying to make it to the reunion in the middle of the power outage in New York City. She and her son had to climb down stairs in their apartment building to get a taxi to catch a ferry to catch a train to catch a ride with another cousin from New Jersey who drove them to North Carolina.
Text Box: Another highlight was all of the family photograph posters June created for the reunion this year. She placed all the photographs collected at the past fifteen reunions by family on display boards. It was a real hit with all the Brickhouses.
Sarah Reynolds volunteered again to host the 2004 family reunion. We hope to have the reunion at the new Fire House being built in Columbia. The 2004 reunion will be held during the month of August and I will give you complete details in the next newsletter in May 2004.
Sarah does an outstanding job each year to keep the reunion alive by planning the meal, ordering T shirts and hosting the reunion. All of us owe her a debt of gratitude and appreciation for all of her hard work. Without her organizational skills and willingness to do all of the leg work, our family reunion would not happen.
