Warren Wilson Tuesday, July 29, 2003
Warren William Wilson, 84, died July 26, 2003, at a local rest home. He was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Benicia, to Carroll Lesley and Mae Viola (Halverson) Wilson.
Warren graduated from Berkeley High School in 1937. He worked for Southern Pacific for a few years before enlisting in the Coast Guard in the fall of 1941. He was discharged in 1947 and lived in Berkeley until the fall of 1948. Warren then moved to Norfolk, Va., where he worked briefly at a shipyard. He then went to work for Sears and Roebuck where he did display layouts for windows. In 1959 he packed up the whole crew in his 1957 Ford pulling a U-Haul with all their belonging and headed for California. They first went to Paradise to his parent's cabin. In the fall of 1959 they moved to Napa and he went to work for Darr's Variety. They bought their house in Bel-Aire that same year and have remained there.
Warren was a builder and artist. He was a member of DAV and VFW. He loved to joke and he loved his family very much. They will miss him deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Wilson, of Napa; his son and daughter in-law, Steven E. and Peggy Wilson, of Valdosta, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Mae and Peter Rogers, of Frant, England; daughter and son-in-law, Jann L. and Greg Rapp, of St. Maries, Idaho; six grandsons, Gabe, Dylan, Paul, Jamie, Alex and Aaron; one granddaughter, Abigale; five great-grandsons, Brent, Gage, Graham, Braden and Damien; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 2 p.m. at the Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St., Napa. Interment will be at San Joaquin National Cemetery.

Sybil G. Brickhouse
Sybil Gallop Brickhouse, age 89, of Edgewater Drive, Harbinger, NC, died Friday, January 31, 2003 at Chowan Hospital in Edenton, NC. A native of Currituck County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Murelle Gallop and Bertie Montaque Gallop, and was the widow of Herman Robert Brickbouse. She was a retired private sitter and a member of Powells Point Christian Church.
Mrs. Brickhouse is survived by: one daughter Loretta Grand of Edenton, NC; two sons Gilbert Ray Brickhouse of Colington, NC, and Don Reed Brickhouse of Harbinger, NC; two brothers Ralph Lee Gallop and Herbert Gallop, both of Harbinger, NC; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Outland and Edith Parker.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, February 3, 2003, at 11:30 AM in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, by the Rev. James R. Hoskins. Burial will follow in Powells Point Christian Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, February 2, 2003 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, and in the lobby of the funeral home immediately after the service.
