Text Box: PHOENIXVILLE, PA—  We did not get to go to England in April.  I got sick in February and had to retire.  I was able to attend the reunion in August.  We also took a seven day cruise from Philadelphia to Bermuda.  We had to leave Bermuda a day early because of a hurricane, but it was still a great trip.  By the time you get this newsletter, June and I will be leaving to go to Florida on the AutoTrain for six weeks to get out of the cold.  If you want to contact me, I’ll be checking my email on a regular basis.

PORTSMOUTH, VA— Dessie Barnak reported the birth of her first grandchild, Kayla Allison Barnak born March 17, 2003 to her son Joey and his wife, Jennifer.  She weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19 inches long.

RAPID CITY, SD—Ray and Maureen Brickhouse made the trip to England, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Rome and Portugal.  Their daughter Karen and her family met them in Rome for a week.  Their daughter, Ruthie is stationed in England with her husband who is serving in the United States Air Force.  After returning to the United States they came and visited with June and I for a month. 

SALADO, TX—Juanita Brickhouse Morris and her husband, Ralph relocated to Salado, Texas to be near their daughter and her family.

CHICAGO, IL— The former wife of Jack Brickhouse, Nelda Teach Brickhouse died June 15, 2003.  Jack and Nelda had one daughter, Sky Jimenez of Columbia, Missouri.

YREKA, CA— Joseph C. Brickhouse  reported that he is working and going to school.  His son John is working in Tulsa, OK for Merrill Lynch.  His son, Justin is living in Baltimore, MD and trading energy for Constellation.  Joseph C. is the son of Joseph Charles Brickhouse, III.  This family is from Joseph Alexander Brickhouse who settled in Beaumont, Texas after the Civil War.

Nellie Adalaide Brickhouse

Camden, NC

 

Nellie Adalaide Brickhouse, age 95, of Camden, NC, died Friday, January 17, 2003, at Winslow Memorial Home.  She was born in Tyrrell County, NC, the daughter of the late William Charlie and Narcissus Brickhouse Hollis and was the widow of Henry Louis Brickhouse.  She was a member of the Camden Church of Christ.

 

Mrs. Brickhouse is survived by two daughters, Virginia D. Sanders and husband Malcolm of Camden, NC, and Margie Marie Holtz and husband Lewis of Frontnac, KS; a son, Edmond Earl Brickhouse and wife Muriel of Camden, NC; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Shelton V. Brickhouse; two sisters, Bessie Hollis and Nancy Hollis; and three brothers, Alfred Hollis, Dallas Hollis and Charlie Hollis.

 

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 20, 2003, at 2:00 PM in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, with Minister Mike McNamara officiating.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Following the service the family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home.  To sign the online guest register, please visit @w.twifordfh.com.
